Greece 2019

Introduction

StoryLab International Film Development Research Network collaborated for the first year with Zagoriwood Film Festival and Workshops in Kato Pedina, Zagori, Greece. Professor Erik Knudsen with Iakovos Panagopoulos (his Phd student) led a five days StoryLab workshop in Zagoriwood during July with the title: Finding the Personal Voice in Filmmaking. Young filmmakers from different film departments in Greece and U.K., local artists and amateur filmmakers joined the workshops to get StoryLab perspective in filmmaking and storytelling.

Aims and Objectives

The aim of this workshop was the collaboration of different people, with different backgrounds in film and to try to find their own personal voice in filmmaking by creating a series of short films in a very short amount of time. The objectives of the workshops were to apply the ethnomediaology principles used in the AHRC funded StoryLab International Film Development Research Network, led by Professor Erik Knudsen, to Zagoriwood, by engaging a selection of participants wanted to find there own personal voice in filmmaking. The final products of the workshops were five short films created by groups of two participants and screened in the main square of the village where all the students and local residents were gathered to support it.
